RWANDAN DIPLOMAT INVOLVED IN CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES EXPOSED

Breaking News - Pretoria – A Rwandan diplomat in Pretoria, South Africa has been exposed for his criminal activities against members of the Diaspora who are critics of the ruling regime in Rwanda specifically those belonging to Rwanda National Congress (RNC) ,a yet to be registered political part operating  outside Rwanda.

The diplomat ,Didier Rutembasa, who is under constant surveillance from the South African Intelligence officers, is known for his role in terrorizing Rwandan refugees as well as his involvement in a recent assassination attempt on Frank Ntwali, chairman of RNC in Africa.  

while RNC members celebrated two years of its existence by staging a picket at the Rwandan Embassy in Pretoria denouncing the regime’s ongoing suppression of human rights, freedom of speech , Rwanda’s support to the rebel movement M23 in Congo, Didier Rutembesa hired and equipped a Congolese refugee whose Identity is withheld for security reasons, with a recording equipments to spy on Gen Kayumba Nyamwasa as well as protesters who were present during the picket.

Fearing for his life, the Congolese refugee decided to seek for protection and handed over all incriminating evidence (recording machine, emails between him and the diplomat) to the lawyers who in return contacted the intelligence officers. Meanwhile they are waiting to official lodge a court case. In an email  exchange between the two men it reads as follows “The reason why it is only today that I denounce you is the fact that I needed some time to gather information and evidences, in addition to the death threat that you did to me 3 days ago(our telephone conversation the 21st January 2013 at 2:44pm)”.

“I request to my lawyer reading this in CC to open a case at the justice for: intimidation, manipulation  and exposure to the risk”.

After several failed attempts to have the South African authorities stop from issuing permission to the members of RNC, Didier sort to use Congolese refugees  to disrupt the picketing but it backfired when Congolese joined-hands with fellow refugees . “For your information, that money allowed those Congolese to pay their transport in order to join RCN in their claim because the claim of these ones was loyal and of common interest”.

Our attempts to contact the lawyers for the Congolese refugee was unsuccessful.

“ Paul Kagame can be indicted anytime” says ICC Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda.

Pretoria - In  a recent discussion between Rwanda National Congress secretary general  on the African continent, Mr Kennedy Gihana and the ICC Chief Prosecutor  Ms Fatou Bensouda, it is clear that the gross human rights violation committed in the DRC with the support of the Rwandan dictator ( Paul Kagame) is high on the ICC agenda.

 

“ We do one investigation at a time, We have completed the investigations and indicted General Bosco Ntaganda after we convicted Lubanga. We will investigate any body any where regardless their positions. At this stage I can not say whom we are investigating
or considering to investigate”. Said Fatou Bensouda

When asked why the ICC has not used the same principles that were used to successfully prosecute former Liberian President (Charles Taylor) she reiterated that “if the tribunal for DRC crimes was to be created today, we could arrest Kagame as I speak”.

 “Am real disturbed by the Amnesty International report and other reports coming out of Rwanda about crime against humanity including torture, extra judicial killings, secret detentions of civilians in the hands of military institutions”. Said Fatou Bensouda.

The government of Rwanda, led by Paul Kagame, continues to deny her involvement in the DRC conflicts after several reports by UN group of experts and many rights groups has proved it to be the case. Meanwhile innocent Congolese and young men from Rwanda are subjected to fight for unknown causes.

The leadership of RNC assured her of their support of the work of ICC to help bring justice to the people or Rwanda and the DRC.

RWANDA NATIONAL CONGRESS MUST BE GUIDED BY ITS GRASSROOT MEMBERSHIP SAYS COLONEL PATRICK KAREGEYA!

Members of Rwanda National Congress who gathered here at The University of Witswatersrand, Johannesburg reiterated their commitment and determination to find the lasting solution to their homeland dictatorship!

Mr Frank Ntwali who co-ordinate the RNC activities on the African continent, gave the audience a summary of what the organization has achieved so far and shared his views on the next phase of consolidating the gains achieved and the way forward for the organisation!
He emphasized on the need for the membership and Rwandan community at large to ask themselves the tough questions,and instead of asking what their fellow citizens are doing about the need to build a momentum that will eventually bring changes in their homeland,but rather posing the same question to themselves individually! The audiance were excited to see their fellow comrade(Ntwali Frank) who survived an assassination attempt last month being as vibrant and in good health as ever.

Pastor Andre Munonoka who prayed for the gathering reminded those who were there that they should not fear because theirs is a just cause and indeed the truth they stand for will eventually free our people from the york of injustice and massive disregard of human life that prevails in Rwanda.

Colonel Patrick Karegeya who also graced the occasion, spoke on the need for the Rwanda National Congress branches to take arobust role in formulating policies and determine the direction that the organization should take particularly young people who are the future of RNC!

This meeting was also attended by RNC leader in Malawi,Bwana Shyaka Telesphore.

RNC-FDU-INKING COALITION. A SHOWDOWN OF UNITY IN BOSTON-USA

Johannebsurg – A showdown of unity drew a huge attention to the residents of Dartmouth and St. James in Boston, Massachusetts on the 22 August 2012, when members of Rwanda National Congress, Democratic Republic of Congo and Tanzania gathered outside,  where the current President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, together with his fellow countrymen attended the Rwanda Day.

The exiled Rwandans, together with their comrade Dr Theogene Rudasingwa, from the opposition groups such as RNC, FUD-INKING and many others,  made their voices heard. Banners, displaying massages calling on the “dictator Paul Kagame” to be held accountable of the deaths of millions of innocent Rwandese and Congolese, were held up by demonstrators. They also made a call for Paul Kagame to pull out of Congo and to put an end to the continued support of the M23 rebel movement, which is accused by a group of UN experts, of committing atrocities under the command of Bosco Ntanganda.

TIT-FOR-TAT MASSACRES BY M23 WITH CONTINUED SUPPORT FROM RWANDA. TESTIFIES JASON K. STEARNS

Johannesburg -  Before a jam-packed audience, on the 19^th September 2012 Jason  K. Stearns testified in front of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs

Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, and Human Rights.

In his testimony, he started by saying “I have been working on the eastern Congo for the past eleven years. In 2008, I was the coordinator of the United Nations Group of Experts on the Congo, and I have also worked on the country for the United Nations peacekeeping mission, as a senior analyst for the International Crisis Group, and as journalist and writer”.

From his research on the ground, he stated the following;

Background to the current crisis

Beginning with the to rise of the new M23 rebellion, is the result of the failure of the Congolese peace process to deal with the persistent causes of conflict in the region. While there are no easy fixes to these deep-rooted challenges, the United States government can help avert a further escalation by helping to broker a settlement. This will require a significant change in how the US engages with Rwanda, but also for Kinshasa to provide the political vision necessary for a solution.

The M23 mutiny

There is no doubt about Rwanda’s involvement. It has been documented by a United

Nations report released in June, by Human Rights Watch, and by the Rift Valley

Institute’s own researchers. In response to this evidence, donors suspended around $90 million in aid to Rwanda, including $200,000 from the US government.

Despite this, the situation has not improved. Rwanda has continued to support the

M23, including by sending in troops to Rutshuru near the Ugandan border in early July. Other armed groups, largely ethnically based, have also gained in strength, in part due to their links to the M23 and the Congolese army’s focus on the mutiny, and have engaged in tit-for-tat massacres of the local population.

He argued that ”The only way this kind of deal can work is if Rwanda plays a part. This means reformulating the kind of pressure put on Kigali, from asking them to stop providing support to the M23 – an outcome that is hard to measure, given the clandestine nature of the backing – to becoming an active part of the solution". "It would have to allow the Congolese government or the United Nations to deploy troops along its border with M23 territory, as well as arrest key leaders of the mutiny, some of whom are based in Rwanda".

This kind of deal will require strong and sustained pressure on Kigali. Donors, chief among them the United States and the international financial institutions where Washington has influence, have some hard choices to make. They can no longer see Rwanda’s admirable successes in health care, education and peacekeeping as separate from its interference in the Congo

In concluding he said that “the situation in the eastern Congo is bleak. But this latest crisis is also an opportunity to change the way the outside world engages with this region, and to address some of the structural problems that have caused these crises to recur with tragic regularity. It is time to act. As a matter of moral consistency, the United States cannot continue to help fund the Rwandan national budget and at the same time continue to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on programs to stabilize the eastern Congo".

So what are the implications? How will the world view us Rwandans, because of our hungry leaders? Will they swallow their pride and "do the right thing"? Or they will continue to tarnish our image, for the sake of fulfilling their stomachs? its up to you to make a change, and change starts within.
