LT RUGIGANA NGABO SENTENCED TO 9 YEARS IN PRISON

Johannesburg – News reaching our desk right now are saying that the Rwanda Military High Court has without reservation sentenced Lt. Col Rugigana Ngabo, Kayumba Nyamwasa's young brother, to  9 years in prison.

We spoke to Frank Ntwali, the chairperson of RNC Africa region and the brother-in-law  to Kayumba Nyawasa  who told us that “ what do you expect for a dictator to do in such case. Like I always say, all systems are manipulated by a single individual, Paul Kagame.”

As reported by guardian.co.uk,  Stephen Rapp, who leads the US Office of Global Criminal Justice, told the Guardian the Rwandan leadership may be open to charges of "aiding and abetting" crimes against humanity in a neighbouring country – actions similar to those for which the former Liberian president Charles Taylor was jailed for 50 years by an international court in May.

Rapp's warning follows a damning United Nations report on recent Rwandan military support for M23, an insurgent group that has driven hundreds of thousands of people from their homes since April as it seized territory in the eastern DRC.

Lt. Col Rugigana Ngabo was arrested on the 20^th August 2010 by the National Security Service due to alleged involvement in terrorism act, claimed by Lt Colonel Jill Rutaremara,  spokesperson of RDF.  We stiill establishing whether the president of Rwanda, Paul Kagame's decision to  handed over the sentence to Lt Rugigana Ngoga has to do with the pressure from the international community or simply a revenge.

LOUISE MUSHIKIWABO EXPRESSED HER OUTRAGE.

Johannesburg – Yesterday evening M23 advanced in the north direction of capital Goma. A number of refugees fleeing to the neighbouring countries increased as reports of fighting between United Nations helicopters in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo mount after new clashes broke out between rebel fighters and loyalist troops, officials have said. 

While speaking to Aljazeera, Major Olivier Hamuli, the army spokesman for Nord Kivu province, said fighting erupted after rebels attacked army positions around Rugari and Kimumba, about 30 kilometres north of Goma. 

Rwanda's Foreign Minister and Government Spokesperson today expressed outrage at continued targeting of Rwandans in the DRC following the detention and torture of four Rwandans at Camp Katindo, a Congolese army facility.

Minister Mushikiwabo said:" This is an extremely serious incident - we have confirmation that one of the tortured Rwandans has died. We have asked the Government of the DRC to ensure that the mistreatment of Rwandan citizens stops immediately"

In addition to that she also said that Rwanda had brought this case to the urgent attention of the Joint Verification Team and warned against the resurgence of hate speech "We have learned before that hate speech has consequences; that reckless political rhetoric costs lives. It is something our region must not be forced to endure again"

What is not clearly is whether what Louise Mushikiwabo claim is indeed true or just an attempt to paint a bad image for the government of Congo, after falling out with Congo regime. This revelation came after the Gov of Congo allegedly accused Rwanda of supporting the M23militally as well as financial support.
