Masabo Nyangezi to taste Rwandan Judicial System.

Masabo Nyangezi, a well known Rwandan musician, is ready and up in arms to test the Rwandan Judicial system after spending a length sentence in prison on false allegations. The state wittiness has final confessed of playing “conspiracy theory” during his appearances before the court. Masabo was arrested on the 10/08/1994.

After spending seven years in jail, he stayed four years living in the Capital Kigali. He felt ill and left the country to seek medical attention. During his absence in 2009, he was sentenced to life in prison by the Ntyazo Gacaca court.

Maria Enoch, who was forced by the police to make false statement against the accused (Masabo Nyangezi) regrets his lies and confessed that he was given orders of what to say, during his appearance. “After realizing the damage after caused to his life and that of his family, my apologies to him and his family” said Maria Enoch.

On the 14th January 2012 Masabo has wrote to the Gacaca court to appeal against Maria Enoch for the injustice suffered. He is currently going under medical treatment for brain tumor suffered while in prison.

“I hope that justice will be served and applied accordingly, in my presence or not. The humiliations that I went through, I await to regain my status through the judgment that will be delivered by the court”. Said Masabo Nyangezi.

This and many other similar cases in Rwanda have raised eye-blows in Rwanda community. Questions remains though, is justice going to be rendered to Masabo? Or will the government, dominated by a group of individuals, ignore his appeal? Is this the begin of Truth and Reconciliation for many Rwandans? Will Kagame's regime accept defeat in this case?
